Isabella Nurigiani practices a form of sculptural abstraction that, whether consciously or otherwise, seems to reference and echo currents of air, the trace of a dancers' movement, the grain of an ancient tree, the ebb and flow of the tides and the play of light as it sweeps and folds across a bare wall.
Her sculptures in marble, iron, bronze and stone are playful and captivating, seeming to gently undulate before our eyes.
After having successfully attended the academy of fine arts in Rome, obtaining a diploma in sculpture, the artistic life of Isabella Nurigiani has been transformed into a resolute research on pure form: a hard and constant plastic exercise thus allows her to enter into the essence of the form, understood as a subliminal manifestation.
The material used, be it wood, marble, metal, takes on a lightness that first underlies and then is reborn thanks to an alchemy that transforms the action into a sentimental revolution.
Isabella has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions at an international level and she currently lives and works in Rome and Pietrasanta.
Her works are located at the "Open-air Museum", a permanent exhibition sponsored by Riano Flaminio and Carpignano Salentino, selected for the IV Edition of the "Vigna degli Artisti 2005" competition and selected for inclusion in the exhibition "Traveling with Calvino” at the Casa dell'Architettura - Acquario Romano, 2013.
Isabella was also winner of the first prize in the sculpture section and absolute prize of the “Nocivelli prize” in 2013 along with receiving a special mention at the Biennale Benevento in 2014
