Oliver Spendley, born in 1991 Dorset England, started his professional creative journey making one of a kind furniture made from unique timber sourced from his local area in the New Forest. Before this being trained in traditional and modern boat building techniques over the span of an extensive apprenticeship.

After many years of working with the wonderful natural forms found in the timber he was using his practice evolved into creating works that were more sculptural in nature, including impressive timber wall hangings and free standing organic timber sculptures. Craftsmanship and a co-relationship with nature remain an intrinsic set of values he's carried forward into this chapter.

Currently based in the remote north coast of Scotland Oliver draws on the immense natural world surrounding him. Creating works using  materials straight from the woodlands and mountains in close reach. Each piece created with the intention of connection. Connecting the observer to something formless and ancient through the beauty of nature. Doing his upmost to show his appreciation of the harmony he sees through his works.
