Sandro Del Pistoia (born in 1975) trained as both a sculptor and an architect, at the Tuscan Universities of Florence and Carrara, and his work reflects this meeting of playfulness and rigor. His work effortlessly flows between, and occasionally combines, a wide range of mediums with each one further advancing a curiosity and desire to explore the very nature of form and its translation into sculpture.

He made his debut at the 12th International Sculpture Biennial in Carrara in 2006 and today he has more than 40 solo and group art exhibitions in seven countries around the world to his name. In 2008 he began a collaboration with Giuliano Tomaino, followed by one with the Maison Fendi in 2009. Several of his installations took on monumental dimensions and were installed at the Museo del marmo A Carrara, the Galata Museo del mare in Genoa, the Museo CAMeC in La Spezia and the Centro Arti Visive in Pietrasanta.

In 2014 he travelled to Shanghai in to complete an artist residency at the Swatch Art Peace Hotel. In China, he exhibited at the How Museum in Wenzhou and in the city of Suzhou as well as in Shanghai. Sandro has also exhibited in Brussels, Barcelona, Ølsted in Denmark.
